Emergency Department
In the Emergency Department the first medical aid is offered 24 hours per day as well as there are all types of necessary examinations offered. The Emergency Department as the separate organisational unit was created on the 1st of February 2006 and for the duration of the year is performing on average around 630 emergency patients in the surgery.
The main task of the Department is provision of the professional services to patients in the following areas:
  • reanimation
  • intensive therapy
  • emergency surgery
  • admission of patients into the Emergency Department
  • provision of emergency assistance to ambulatory patients
  • admission of patients into the hospital.

The successful operation of the Department is secured by the following qualified specialists: the surgeon, anaesthesiologist-reanimatologist, functional diagnostics doctor, neonatologist, internist and cardiologist.

In the event of necessity the following specialists are invited: radiologist-diagnostician, endoscopy specialist, cardiologist.

When providing the emergency servicing and in the case of surgeries we are practicing the modern surgery methods – laparoscopic surgery which is utilised during the surgeries for removal of bilious stones, appendix and hernias. As the basis of the method there is a surgical process with the use of video systems and surgical tools. Laparoscopic surgery provides for shorter rehabilitation period of the patient and is less invasive.
