Hospital Jurmala

The LLC Hospital Jurmala is the local multiprofile hospital. It has commenced its work already more than 50 years ago and until 8 June 2007 was operating under the name of Hospital Bulduri. For the period of this time the hospital was repeatedly extended. Thus, the Surgery Unit was opened in 1977 and in the Maternity Unit has commenced its operations. Today the Hospital Jurmala is the only hospital in Jurmala which on the 24-hour basis offers the services of emergency unit, x-ray and laboratory, as well as the services of the following specialists on duty: surgeon, internist, gynaecologist, neonatologist, anaesthesiologist-reanimatologist.

 

There are working only certificated specialists in the departments of the hospital. The doctors working in the hospital are regular improving their qualification in the seminars organized by the professional, in ternational congresses and conferences.

 

The work of the hospital is directed to continuous development, modernisation of the existing material and technological resources as well as on the enlargement of the offered spectrum of services to the clients. From comparatively small hospital with 40 bed the Hospital Jurmala has grown into the largest hospital in Jurmala city, which now has 143 beds. The medical assistance in the hospital can be obtained by both the residents of the Jurmala and visitors of the city. The sole owner of all capital shares of the hospital is the Jurmala City Council.
